Great North Run 2024

The Great North Run is the world's largest half marathon, with a fantastic atmosphere that never fails to amaze. The closed-road half marathon takes you through the streets of Newcastle, across the Tyne Bridge where the Red Arrows will fly overhead, and towards South Shields.

• If you got a place in the public ballot, we'd love you to run for Maggie's

Running for Maggie's 

We will support you every step of the way and help you cross the finish line. Here is some of the support you will receive:

• a high-performance running vest 
• a visit around your local Maggie's centre
• one of the loudest cheer points on the route cheering you along
• a Facebook group to support your teammates 
• continued support with your training and fundraising
