"A virtual hug" from our Honorary Patron, Janet Ellis

A few words from our Honorary Patron Janet Ellis about living with cancer at this difficult time.

Those of us living with, or affected by, a diagnosis of cancer already know a little about a different future. I’ve been getting used to making plans with plenty of ‘hope so’s’  and ‘fingers crossed’ for a while now after my husband’s diagnosis.

I have really appreciated how important it is to have someone to talk to. I know that having access to proper information is vital. I’ve really tried to embrace living in the moment, finding joy where I can and sharing it, too. And throughout, Maggie’s has been both teacher and companion.

But the world is strange now. Sometimes it feels harder to hold on to all that I’ve learnt. But in these unpredictable times, one thing is certain – Maggie’s is still here. Still listening, still supporting still guiding.

I’m grateful to everyone for keeping things going and sending a virtual hug to the whole Maggie’s community.

Thank you Janet, we are here with you.
