Sir Chris Hoy has launched a charity fundraiser to help change the perception of people living with cancer, while also raising vital funds for five cancer charities.
In 2024, Olympic cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy shared the news of his diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer.
Since then, he has been raising awareness, encouraging more men to get checked, and helping to normalise conversations about cancer and getting support.
Sir Chris Hoy said:
It’s really important for me to shine a spotlight on what a stage 4 cancer diagnosis can look like and demonstrate that it is possible to live well and lead a happy life alongside this devastating diagnosis.
Tour de 4 is a new charity bike ride launched by Sir Chris that aims to raise awareness of what a stage 4 cancer diagnosis can look like, and change the perception of people living with cancer, while also raising money for five UK cancer charities.
The ride will offer something for everyone, and will feature long and short distance routes, a family-friendly route and much more.
Join Sir Chris on this charity ride, and help support everyone with cancer and all the people who love them.
Our Chief Executive Dame Laura Lee, said:
It’s an honour to have been chosen by Sir Chris Hoy as one of the five charities who will benefit from his incredible fundraising event, Tour de 4, this September.
"We are so grateful to Sir Chris for speaking out about his cancer diagnosis, which is encouraging others to get checked if something doesn’t feel right, to talk more openly about cancer and to ask for help if they need it.
"A cancer diagnosis can hit you and your loved ones very hard, and people will often need support to help them cope.
