We are proud to be working in partnership with Howden one of the world’s largest insurance groups.
About the partnership
In April 2024, Howden employees selected Maggie’s as their group UK charity partner until April 2026.
With a target of £500,000, Howden’s fundraising will mean we can continue to offer expert care and support for people living with cancer and their friends and family, across our 24 centres and online.
£500,000 could pay for 6,500 financial support sessions and over 4,000 psychological support sessions, to help alleviate the stress and anxiety that cancer can bring.
Raise awareness
We will also work with Howden to raise awareness of Maggie’s through their UK-wide network of branches, training their customer-facing staff on how to provide the best possible service to people living with cancer, and sharing their expertise to challenge the insurance industry to provide the best possible service to people living with cancer.
Together we will ensure more people living with cancer get the support they need.
Since the partnership began, Howden colleagues have gone above and beyond with not only fundraising, but volunteering and driving awareness of Maggie's.
In just 8 months, they have raised an incredible £410,000 – which could pay for 8,200 sessions with a Maggie’s Psychologist so someone living with cancer can receive support with the anxiety and stress that cancer can bring.
How Howden colleagues have raised funds for Maggie’s:
- Cycled 24 hours at Goodwood Motor Circuit, raising over £175,000
- Cycled from London to Monte Carlo, raising over £72,500
- Sold raffle tickets, raising over £31,200
- Abseiled 225m down the Leadenhall Building, raising over £27,000
- Ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon, raising over £22,000
- Held a private clients quiz, raising over £20,500
- Climbed the Three Peak challenge, raising over £13,500
- Howden x Maggie’s Carol Concert, raising over £5,000
I’m so pleased our colleagues have chosen Maggie’s as our UK charity partner.
"My wife Caroline died at 50 years old from cancer, having been diagnosed 10 years earlier when our children were ages 9, 7, and 4. We came to understand that the social and emotional support that Maggie’s offer to those with cancer and, as importantly, to their families really does make a difference. I look forward to seeing what we are able to achieve together to help further Maggie’s incredibly important work.
– Dominic Collins, Executive Chairman at Howden
We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with Howden. Our first year of partnership has been a tremendous success with Howden’s fundraising already helping thousands of people living with cancer and their families across the UK with psychological support and help with money worries.
"We are excited to continue working with Howden’s dedicated and passionate colleagues to support even more people living with cancer and their families.
