We're proud to be Scotmid's charity partner in 2024-2025.
Scotmid is Scotland’s largest independent co-operative and has been at the heart of Scottish communities since 1859.
Their businesses include Scotmid Co-operative, Lakes and Dales Co-operative, Semichem, Funeral Directors, Post Offices and their property division.
About the partnership
Scotmid colleagues, members and customers are supporting us throughout 2024 and 2025 so more people living with cancer can get access to our vital support from day one of their diagnosis.
Through fundraising and awareness, Scotmid will be supporting the costs of our Cancer Support Specialists across Scotland and Newcastle.
Our Cancer Support Specialists are experienced oncology nurses, radiographers and other healthcare professionals. They are here to listen to how people are feeling, answer any questions they may have and guide them to the right information.
Thanks to Scotmid, we can make sure we are here for everyone with cancer and all the people who love them, as soon as they need us.
We will also be working with Scotmid to train their colleagues on how to support their colleagues and customers with cancer through tailored training on:
- Cancer in the workplace
- Cancer Awareness
- Menopause and cancer
- Bereavement in the workplace
We’re so excited about this partnership, which will enable us to provide vital support to people with cancer who want to remain in or return to work. The partnership with Scotmid is about more than just fundraising. It’s about working together to support people living with cancer and raise awareness of Maggie's. Cancer unfortunately now impacts 1 in 2 people at some point in their lives and impacts millions of people every single day – customers, colleagues or members across our shared communities. This partnership means together we can support more people living with cancer from day one of their diagnosis and be there for anyone who needs us, for as long as they need us.
– Adam Feder, Head of Corporate Partnerships
Maggie’s is a fantastic charity supporting people and their families living with cancer. Scotmid customers, members and colleagues demonstrate an unwavering commitment to fundraising and we’re delighted that funds raised from the partnership will go towards supporting vital cancer care in our communities, and we aim through the partnership to raise awareness of Maggie’s and cancer support initiatives for people and their families living with cancer.
