31,000 new cancer diagnoses a year
A new Maggie’s centre on the grounds of University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) will ensure the best possible emotional and practical support is accessible for anyone who has cancer across the West Midlands.
UHCW is one of the UK’s largest teaching trusts and is responsible for two major hospitals in Coventry and Rugby.
Between them, they serve a population of over one million people, around 306,000 of whom are living with or beyond cancer.
The specialist cancer centre at University Hospital Coventry works with clinical leads to provide radiotherapy and oncology services to over 20,000 patients a year.
The support Maggie’s will provide
Each of our centres across the UK is built on the grounds of a specialist NHS cancer hospital at the invitation of the local Trust.
Situated close to the oncology services, Maggie’s Coventry will be a warm and welcoming place, where people with cancer can explore tough questions and difficult emotions, to find a way through and beyond cancer.
The centre will be there for anyone and everyone affected by cancer, offering an enhanced and unique evidence-based programme of support delivered in an uplifting, non-clinical environment.
