Getting here by:
Car
Maggie’s in Lanarkshire is on the grounds of University Hospital Monklands, beside Car Park 4. It’s the low, single-storey building with lattice brickwork among the tall trees on the edge of the hospital grounds, close to Monkscourt Avenue and the car park exits.
Public Transport
Coatdyke train station is a 14-minute walk from the centre and is located on the opposite side of University Hospital Monklands.
Buses also serve University Hospital Monklands.
Accessibility
Our entrance is the large gap in our lattice wall, accessed by a few shallow steps that lead you into a small, leafy courtyard. The entrance to the centre is the glass door on the right.
For disabled access, there is a gently sloping path 20 yards to the right of the shallow steps. They lead around (left) to the same entrance courtyard.
Once inside, the building is on one level, with wide doorways and a disabled toilet. Access to our rear garden is by the sloping entrance path and the low gate to the right, or by steps directly from the building.

Centre Head & Clinical Psychologist
As a qualified Clinical Psychologist, I have over 30 years' experience working with people with physical health problems, often during the most difficult times in their lives. I joined Maggie’s in 2008, and I can help when emotional experiences become complex or overwhelming. We can talk about things in a safe and supportive space, and you can see me in private, in a group or course, or with your family.
As the centre head, I also look after the running of the centre and make sure my team and I are providing the best possible cancer support.

Our beautiful centre opened in 2014 in the grounds of Monklands Hospital. The building was designed as an extension of the landscape that offers moments of visibility and outlook with places of privacy and inlook – perfect for the delivery of our cancer support.
